1. Смерть особи, не оставившей потомства.
2. Элиминация генотипа — носителя мутировавшего гена (см. Мутация), оказывающего общий отрицательный эффект и подпавшего под действие элиминирующего отбора (см. Отбор).
3. Элиминация определенной мутации и в гомо-, и в гетерозиготном состоянии.
